Gallery

A fast, private place for the photos and videos already on your phone. Sorted by day, organised into albums, and kept entirely on the device — nothing uploaded anywhere.

Photos & videos Albums Recycle bin No cloud

Getting started

  1. Install Gallery and open it. When asked, allow access to your photos and videos — you can grant all of them, or only selected ones.
  2. Your library opens straight away, grouped by the day each photo was taken.
  3. Pinch the grid to zoom the timeline from days out to months, years, or your whole library; use the drag scrollbar to jump around quickly.
  4. Tap a photo to open it; tap a video and it plays on its own, muted — use the speaker button to bring sound in.

Troubleshooting

A photo I just took isn't showing

Gallery picks up new photos as soon as the system finishes saving them, which can take a few seconds after the camera. If it hasn't appeared, leave Gallery and come back, or pull to refresh.

A video shows a plain tile instead of a picture

Most videos, including iPhone Dolby Vision clips, get a real thumbnail. A brand-new library fills these in over the first minute or two after install; give it a moment. A very small number of unusual formats may keep a plain film tile.

Dates look wrong

Gallery reads each photo's real capture date, including from the photo's own EXIF data when the system date is missing. On a large library this is worked out once on first launch and then cached, so the first open can take a little longer.

I deleted a photo by mistake

Open Albums → Recycle bin. Deleted photos are kept there for 30 days, so you can restore them.

I paid but it still shows the free version

Open the unlock screen and tap Restore purchase, signed in to the same Google Play account you bought it with.

How do I stop seeing ads?

Ads only appear if you chose the free, ad-supported version after the trial. Buying the one-time full version removes them. You can also reset your advertising ID any time in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.

Free trial, then your choice

The full app is free for 7 days. After that, keep everything with a single one-time purchase — no subscription — or keep using Gallery free, supported by ads. Ads appear only on the free ad-supported tier; the trial and the paid version show none.

Privacy

Your photos and videos stay on your phone and are never uploaded. The free ad-supported tier shows ads through Google AdMob, which uses your advertising ID. Read the full privacy policy.
