Privacy Policy

Gallery shows the photos and videos already on your phone. It was built around one principle: your photos are yours, and they stay on your device. They are never uploaded to any server of ours or to any cloud.

Your photos and videos

Gallery reads your device's photo and video library on the phone, so it can show it to you, sort it by date, make thumbnails and let you organise it. That is all. Your photos and videos are never sent off the device — not to us, not to a cloud, not to anyone. We have no servers that receive them and no account for you to sign in to.

Ads, on the free tier only

After the 7-day trial you can either buy the full version once, or keep using Gallery for free supported by ads. Only if you choose the free ad-supported tier does Gallery show ads, through Google AdMob. To serve those ads, AdMob collects and shares with Google:

• your device's advertising ID;
• ad interactions (which ads were shown and tapped) and basic app and device diagnostics;
• an approximate location that Google may derive from your IP address.

On newer versions of Android, AdMob may also use Android's own Privacy Sandbox advertising features, which work out broad interest topics on the device and measure whether an ad led to anything, instead of tracking you across apps.

This is used to show and measure ads. If you are on the trial or you buy the full version, no ads are shown and none of this is collected. You can reset or delete your advertising ID at any time in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads. Google's handling of ad data is described in Google's own privacy policy.

Payments

The full version is a one-time in-app purchase handled entirely by Google Play. Gallery never sees your payment details, and no payment information reaches us.

Permissions Gallery asks for, and why

• Photos and videos — to show your library and organise it. You can grant access to all of it, or only to selected items; Gallery works with whichever you choose.
• Internet — used only to fetch ads on the ad-supported tier and to process the one-time purchase. The app has no server of ours to talk to.

What stays on your device

Gallery keeps a little information on the phone so it works well: cached thumbnails, the labels of albums you make, photos you moved to the recycle bin, when your trial started, and whether you unlocked the full version or chose the ad-supported tier. This never leaves the device. Deleting the app deletes it.

Children

Gallery is not directed at children and is not part of a families programme.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
